The 1.5" Ratcheting Medical Tourniquet (RMT) by m2 Inc. is designed for extremity hemorrhage control on adult limbs. The ratcheting buckle mechanism applies controlled, incremental mechanical pressure to occlude arterial blood flow — no windlass, no rod to snap or lose under stress. Single-hand self-application is achievable with training using gross motor movements only.
This is the 1.5" webbing version: the smallest and lightest CoTCCC-recommended RMT configuration. Recommended for duty belt, plate carrier med pouch, or EDC carry where bulk is a constraint. The 0.75" m2 ratcheting buckle is the smallest available — appropriate for adult limbs with smaller circumference or for placement in tighter kit configurations.
Instructions are printed directly on the webbing. The RMT is self-locking — once tightened, it does not back off without deliberate release. Activation produces an audible ratchet sound, confirming engagement. Store flat in a dedicated tourniquet pouch or open pocket with the windlass-free profile allowing more positioning options than standard windlass tourniquets.
Training note: CoTCCC guidelines require regular practice with your specific tourniquet model. Deploy from your actual carry position, under time pressure, with non-dominant hand only. Do not rely on classroom training alone.

Been eye f’n this thing fora long time and finally pulled the trigger. Much easier to use than expected very intuitive. Prob best on market for self application in an emergency

The product itself is worth every dollar! I have not been nor am I looking forward to be, in a situation where I need to use the RMT but with just the fact that I have it and carry it always on myself is a relief. It is simple to use, perfect for one hand operations, with good practice one can use it with ease. I can see how when it was crafted, all possibilities were thought of. Overall, it is a must have for those who EDC, and take their life seriously.
I’ve carried these RMT’s for roughly 6mo and have practiced a lot with them. I carried the NAR Tq’s for about 7yrs prior to these. And these are not only far superior, but quicker to apply and use under stress.
I (unfortunately) responded to a shots fired call where 4 people were critically wounded—using the RMT & other medical supplies to aid the victims. I can confirm the RMT in a real world application was faster to apply and in my opinion better than the NAR TQ. I’ve recommended these to other officers and they have started purchasing them for their own kits.
